Snowmobile Alaska

See Alaska by snowmobile

At Alaska Wild Guides, we’re pleased to offer two types of winter day tours: a glacier tour and the Iditarod trail tour. If you’ve never ridden a snowmobile before, don’t worry! Both tours include expert snowmobile orientation and guidance and head-to-toe gear to keep you warm and safe. You’ll also never be left alone.

Explore the historic Iditarod trail

Our Iditarod trail tour is ideal for beginners, thanks to the easy terrain. Starting about an hour and a half away from Anchorage, we’ll take you through forests and open fields and over parts of the historic dog trail. You’ll get to experience four solid hours of riding time, plus lunch and hot drinks to warm up.

14-mile glacier tour

Our glacier tour is a great option for the adventurous. From a town about 45 minutes outside of Anchorage, we take you to Spencer Glacier, where you can explore ice caves and see icebergs and plenty of local wildlife. Our tours often run into moose, eagles, porcupines, wolves and lynx, among other spectacular creatures. Like our Iditarod tour, we provide lunch and hot drinks, plus plenty of photo opportunities. You’ll ride over 14 miles of unspoiled land, seeing the majestic landscape from a completely new perspective.

We love these day tours because they give our clients an opportunity to experience the Alaskan outdoors without being too cold and grueling. New visitors, especially when first starting out, often make the mistake of pushing themselves too hard in the cold. This makes for an exhausting day. With our tours, you can rest assured that you’ll always be accompanied by an expert, so you’ll stay safe and happy from the moment we take off.
